A book
from thrift store, printed 1976. It goes well in my collection of teddy-books. Another one here.

I found this embroidery book
at Salvation Army shop and almost fell into tears when i turned the pages.
It took me back to my childhood; my mother and grandmother were very fine embroiderers. Granny did wedding equipments as extra work.
In this book I saw the patterns of our sheets, towels, handkerchiefs - all sorts of textile with markings by these women.
It was a bittersweet feeling to see these pictures...you can see some pages here.

Aronia melanocarpa
I'm gonna make aronia liqueur:
First 24h in the freezer to take away the worst sourness.
Put in a glass jar.
To 1 litre aronia berries, add 5 dl vodka.
Let the jar be in a light place for a month. Shake it now and then.
Strain off the liqour, mix with 3-3½ dl white syrup.
Pour it in a bottle.
Store in a dark place for some months, the longer, the better.

An old card
sent to me 1968 from my paternal granny.
Now when I look at it, I can see it's a bit kitschy but because it's from my childhood I can't put it in the Kitsch Box.

Farmer's Market
is taking place every Saturday at Olof Palme's Square here in Örebro. We bought organically grown fruits from friends with a big apple garden. This is Atvastra, a baltic apple they grow.

Svampen
means "the mushroom"; 58 metres high water tower here in Örebro. Sadly it wasn't open today, we were planning to look at the stunning wiew and take a 'fika' or some ice cream...
It has a twin tower somewhere in the Arabian Peninsula.

A day in the woods
Today me, my husband and our youngest had a day in the woods.
We took the bus to a recreation area called Ånnaboda, 15 km west of Örebro.
A short walk to the lake Falkasjön (Falcon lake) with a stunning wiew and 'fika' and some blueberry-picking afterwards. A wonderful nature experience for us!
Some pictures here.
